The Darling Kids--The True Story

~with tribute to J.M. Barrie and his play, PETER PAN~

Cast:

Needed:  1 girl, 2 boys, 1 woman, and 2 men to play 8 characters: MICHAEL (9 yrs. old), JOHN (12 yrs. old), WENDY (13 yrs. old), MRS. DARLING (mid-30's), MR. DARLING (mid-40's), PETER (early 30's), HAKEN (mid-40's), and EDYTHA (mid-30's).

Setting:

An attic space that acts as the children's nursery, which later turns into a boarding house in Manhattan, and later into a warehouse in Jersey.

Length:

68 pages, lasting approximately one hour and twenty minutes.

The gist:

This is the true story of what really happened to Wendy, John and Michael Darling. Needless to say, the Never Land tale is a complete fabrication--a hoax!  It's Christmas time but not for the Darling children, so when Peter drops in, (no he doesn't fly), the children happily run away with him and for good reason.  And except for a brief mishap with a German clog dancing troupe of lost boys, the Darling children learn to create their own loving extended family and experience a true Christmas season at long last. A comedy perfect for the family and Christmas season.
